We understand how important an outstanding book cover can be in this competitive book market. To make your book stand out without a lot of work on your part, we offer you the Standard Cover creation services.
If you choose a package with this service you are given the choice of four templates featuring basic layouts where the title (and subtitle if applicable), cover image and author name will appear. Within these standard templates you are given the freedom to choose the background color, cover image(s) and one of five different fonts. We are happy to choose anything you do not have a preference about.
We also think your cover images should be unique and truly set your book apart. Therefore we give you the option to submit your own image or choose an image from our extensive stock photo collection from JI Unlimited.
If you choose to submit your own cover graphic, please make sure it meets the following requirements:
- TIFF (.tif) file format
- CMYK colorspace
- 300-dpi resolution
- Match the dimension of the final trim size, plus an 1/8” bleed on the top, right and bottom side (i.e., a cover image for a 6” x 9” book would need to be submitted at 6.125” x 9.25”)
- Copyright permission from the creator (artist, photographer, etc.) to use the work on your book cover
For the back of your book's cover you may submit the following items:
- Author bio (no more than 50 words)
- Marketing copy (no more than 200 words)
- One to four published reviews (no more than 50 words each, including the credit line)
Should you desire adjustments or changes to your cover after receiving the first proof copy, we can meet your requests for a small corrections charge for each round of changes. You can make as many rounds of corrections to your cover as you wish until you are happy with the final version.
